Fibreglass kayaks are lighter and more versatile than other types of kayaks.
Fibreglass kayaks are some of the best kayaks on the market. These kayaks are designed to hold their shape longer than kayaks made out of other materials, and due to the versatility of fibreglass, they can be used to make many different types of kayak designs. There are also a few advantages to fibreglass kayaks over the other types of kayaks.
First of all, composite or fibreglass kayaks are likely to be much lighter than some of the other kayak materials. Wooden and plastic kayaks can be fairly heavy, which makes them harder to port and more ungainly to move onto your car top, or to store when you get home. Granted, inflatable kayaks are lighter than the fiberglass models, however the fibreglass kayaks will stand up to wear and tear far more easily than inflatable kayaks do.
Another benefit of having light kayaks is that it may actually make the kayak faster and easier to paddle. What this means is that if you're planning on going long distances (for instance, kayak touring) you won't get tired as easily as you might if your kayak was heavier or harder to push through the water.
Another benefit of fibreglass kayaks is that they will generally last longer than some of the other types of kayaks. This is due to the way that they are made. Since fibreglass is easy to form into different shapes, it's likely that the fibreglass kayaks will stay shaped for longer than wooden or plastic kayaks will. It is also harder for fibreglass kayaks to become warped due to warm weather or sunlight. (However, if you don't want the colors to fade, you should probably keep your kayak under some sort of shelter).
