Thompsons Lapcraft 4 - 6" Trim SAW

Features heavy duty construction from 1.6mm sheet steel. Extra large sump for long periods between coolant changes. Large 223mm x 305mm Saw Table is hinged at the rear for quick access to the sump. The table locks down by means of a bracket and wing nut at the front. Special sealing flanges under the saw table prevent coolant leakage during operation. The precision ground Stainless Steel saw shaft is fitted with accurately machined cast aluminium collars to make sure that the blade runs true. The Bearing and Seal arrangement, we believe, is a Lapcraft exclusive. The bolt on sealed Ball Bearings are mounted on a steel shaft OUTSIDE the saw sump and are not in contact with the grit laden coolant. The Saw Shaft passes through the side of the sump and then through a double chamber seal housing, where "slinger" type seals ensure that virtually no coolant reaches the bearings. * This is an important feature as most other machine designers expose the innermost bearing or bush to the coolant. The coolant will gradually penetrate the bearing seal, taking grit with it, thus causing premature failure of the bearing. This machine takes 4", 5" or 6" Diamond Blades with 1/2" bore (see our blade section for all blade options). This Trim Saw comes fitted with a 5" Diamond Blades. It also comes with pulleys and drive belt but requires a 1/4hp motor to drive it (not included). Size: 240mm (high) x 270mm (wide) x 310mm (long- front to back).
