The 17 foot Scarab designed by Brett Ashley is a full expedition-size kayak. It boasts a trihedral hull with soft chines for improved stability and glide. Scarab's high sharp bow cuts through the waves with ease, and the high foredeck sheds water very efficiently. The low rear deck allows for easy rolling and re-entry. Scarab has a large cockpit of 78 x 41.5cm making wet exits and re-entry safe and easy, and two large deck hatches come complete with neoprene covers and low profile fibreglass hatch covers with quick release straps.
